access denied?

My computer became infected and then after cleaning it. The computer would not reboot. I ended up using the recovery disk and now it has a new computer name, it shows the original one but then says access denied. Is there anyway to once again access this data? Operating System is XP, home user. Thank you

You need to take ownership of the data:
HOW TO: Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP

If you have XP Pro, you need to go to Explorer > Folder Options > View
and disable file sharing, in XP Home, you need to boot in safe mode
(pressing F8 key).
