Runing Windows XP Home Second Edition

I was unaware that windows was compressing older files. Now that I need
these files, I can't seem to open them.

These files properties show them as compressed. When I double click on
them, the program they were created in opens, however the file does not.

If I try to open the file through the program it was created in, I get an
Access Denied error.

Any suggestions? I really need to open a few of these older files.

Thanks in advance,
Van

Maybe the files are been blocked because of the security issues.
For example, Outlook Express sometimes won't allow to open some attachments,
Or the folder that the files are located in has security restrictions.

1. Either way, try copying your files to another folder and try openning
from there.

2. Maybe the file itself is corrupted. Try opening it on another system.
This way if the file still will not open then it probobly corrupted.
