I have a small Access database I am developing - I am the only one
with access to it on my personal network drive. The other day, I
changed some joins and re-imported a few small tables (nothing bigger
than 1000 rows - just plain text data).

The next day, I noticed the database size had increased from 45 meg to
over 2 gig. I did a repair and compact and it went down to 16 meg.

What on earth would cause such a sudden increase in size? I would
like to prevent this from happening again to avoid our sys admin
coming down on me.

Sorry, you're right, it was about 2 gig. I didn't really do anything
strange at all - imported 3 small tables from a previous copy of the
database, and removed the joins from the old tables and put them on
the new tables. The joins are just standard one-to-many joins. By
the way, this was with Access 2003.
