Users are having a problem opening Excel within Access in
that it creates a 'psuedo-database' (they are not
importing). Access is creating a database with the same
name as the Excel spreadsheet. The users then have to
delete the 'psuedo database' (the one created with the
Excel name) when they close the Access database. Is there
a fix for this? Is there a setting that we are missing?

Thanks,
Bill

No, the users are just opening Excel Worksheets within
Access using the normal File > Open process.

Strangely, I cannot duplicate the problem on my pc.

Then maybe you should tell me what you mean by "pseudo database". If you do
open an Excel Worksheet in Access, then it should simply create a link to
the spreadsheet. That's the way it's supposed to work. Is this link what you
are referring to as a "pseudo database"?
