Hello,

I have recently been instructed by my company to take a
100 pg price list that is currently in Word and put it
into Access. My experience with Access is quite limited,
and I need some sort of tutorial that can take me from
start to finish (preferably in book form). There seem to
be tons of them out there, but I have been unable to find
any ratings or anything. Perhaps someone could recommend
one?

Thank You,

Athena

Hi,
I don't think you'll find a step by step tutorial for your exact situation in any book.
I can recommend the one I started off with which was:
Using Access 97.
I don't remember the author but it was published by Que books.
It starts at a very basic level and shows you how to build fairly simple
databases that require little or no VBA coding.

Perhaps others can recommend books they've started with.

Lots of books indeed! One suggestion is to go to a good bookstore and
sit down with a stack (skip the Dummies/Idiots/etc., they're good for
people learning to use an existing Access app but not intended for
your needs) and see which fit your learning style. Check out the
indexes especially.

(Special Edition) Using Access 97 (also versions for A2K and AXP) authored
by Roger Jennings published by Que.

I liked this book because by the time you are through with it, you know so
much about the Access GUI. A bit light on VBA (started about chapter 27)
but buy this time, you have more than enough to buy a book on Access VBA.
