Access automatic number placement

I am having a problem after I put numbers in sequence after I type in 1 then
2 it puts 3 in one cell and 4 in the next.
 
Hi

That is just the way access does things - meant to make it easy.

To get round this don't add data directly into a table. Use a form or query
