I need to access a temporary internet file that's in cache (not on
disk). How do applications access that? For instance if you click on
a .doc link on a page, the browser downloads the file and Word opens
with that file.
What I am trying to do is have a link on a page with a specific file
extension (.tst). I will setup the PC that will use this web
application and associate a batch file to that .tst file. When the user
clicks on the link, the file will open and run the batch application
which will process the file with the .tst extension.. I can do some of
this now but I cannot access the actual file. I can see the name of
the file but it seems to be in memory cache not on disk.
Any ideas?
