I heard that Access 97 is no longer officially supported
by Microsoft and that new xp patches would not be
regression tested against Access 97 running in an XP
environment. Can anybody confirm?

Doug:
Thank you very much for confirming this for me. I guess
it's finally time we go to Access XP.

Not a bad idea, though many still prefer Access 97.

As a "counterpoint", I'll just mention that I have done several new Access
2.0 applications for specific users after Access 2.0 was (long) out of
support without encountering any problems.

But the last OS I used for that was Win 98 SE. Others have reported Access
2.0 running OK on Access 2000 Pro, though.

I have Access 97, 2002, and 2003 installed on this Access 2000 Pro notebook
and all are still running just fine.

If you are talking about OS patches, that could be a concern. I don't really
expect to see any more Access 97 patches, unless it is a disastrous security
problem.
