I acquire permits through Caltrans, which requires
the "Access 97" software. Caltrans has informed me
that "Access 97" is no longer available, and to run this
Caltrans program, you must already have it. The main
computer I work on has "Access 2000", while another
(dinosaur)has "Access 97". Is there anything I can do
to get the "Access 97" program, I have on one computer, to
my main computer? Or, do I have to submit my Caltrans
requests through my old, really slow, piece of pooooo,
computer. These programs came with the installation
software for each computer. PLEASE HELP!! and THANK YOU!

The company should likely supply the version you need and include it as part
of the package.

You can also un-install access 97 on the old computer, and presumably use
your legitimate copy of office 97, and access 97 on your new computer.

You can install, and use more then one copy of access on the same computer.
You do need to follow some instructions on how to do this, but it does
work..

I usually have at least 3 versions of ms-access installed on my computer at
all times...

No, you cannot copy or otherwise migrate Access97 from one PC to another.
It has to be installed due to requirements to register various DLL's and set
up a bunch of entries in the system registry. You might be able to find an
old Office97 CD around to install from, or you might even be able to find a
bootleg copy on one of the WAREZ sites, but this is iffy at best.

If you do get a copy to install, be sure to check the MS Knowledge Base on
how to install 2 versions of Access. It's tricky.
