Hi,
I just reinstalled MS Access 2003. All the programs work fine accept
Access. When I try to start it up, from the start menu or the programs menu,
it brings up a window that says its configuring 2003 and appears to be
installing something. Then it goes away but Access does not start up.

I uninstalled just Access and then reinstalled it but nothing is working.

Any suggestions?

Hi Jerry,

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=905530

This problem can also occur when a user attempts to open an existing
database. This article is misleading because it only mentions "When you
create a database or a table".

If re-registering msjtes40.dll does not fix this problem for you, then I'm
afraid my only other suggestion is to start over from scratch: FDisk, Format,
and re-install your operating system and all application software. Of course,
only do this after backing up all your data, making sure you have all
installation CDs handy, and that you have the proper drivers available,
especially if you are dealing with a laptop PC.

Good Luck,

Tom,

I don't get that error message when I try to start up Access. However, I
copied the dll file but it is still the same thing.

Tell me there's something else besides formatting to do trick, please!!

Jerry
