Does anyone know where to get this? I have spent the better part of this
week on the Microsoft site and cannot determine where or how to get this. I
have created an Access database that I need to deploy to standalone users who
may or may not have Access. I understand this is what I need in order to do
that. Anyone have any other ideas or suggestions?
Thanks,
DN

What you need is Microsoft Access 2003 Developer Extensions - This would
allow you to package and deploy an access db to run on a system with out
installing Access

Visual Studio Tools for Office 2003 is how to get the Access 2003 Developer
Extensions. (I believe VSTO 2005 does as well)

If you're using MSDN, note that while VSTO is available in all subscription
levels of MSDN, the Access Developer Extensions are not included with all
versions. ADE is only available at Universal level.

The stand-alone VSTO box includes both VSTO and the ADE.

See http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/office/officetools.aspx for more
details

Douglas, it may be time to update the boilerplate :-)
ADE is only available at Universal level.
Evidently, "Universal" level subscriptions are in the process of being
transitioned out (or called something else). However, with the changes in
MSDN, it seems that VSTO and ADE will now be included with *all* MSDN
subscriptions (except the basic Operating Systems & Library flavors). Whew!

That is of course, going forward. Anyone who has an "old" subscription can
remain confused :-)

HTH,

Thanks, George. I recently had to change my subscription, and to be honest,
I was totally confused by the options!
