Acces to private folders

I've recent had to format my primare hadrdrive and reinstall Windows XP on
it, so far so good !
But on my secondary haddrive I have a folder containing a lot of photos, the
folder was made private in the deleted Windows XP and I can't get acces to
this folder anymore.

I have read in XP help that if I log in as administrator, I can "take over"
the ownership of this folder and get acces to it again.
Because Im not menber of a domain on this pc I read that to change the
ownership I have to press CTRL, the right click the folder, press properties
and open a tab named security (sikkerhed in Danish).
