My XP home would be fine if my on board audio, which works
just fine ,were digitally signed. It isn`t .So,blue screen
crashes galore. How do I get a digitally signed driver of
AC97 ,or,if i buy a NEW SOUND CARD how do i make sure it
will be digitally signed by microsoft??????????

Go to the motherboard manufacturers website - look in the manual for URL.
Get the latest sound drivers and possibly Bios update.

Just curious how do you know the audio drivers are causing the blue screen
error?

I have at least one hardware driver that is not digitally signed by MS - no
blue screen.

r.

The manufacturer must supply the drivers to Microsoft, and pay the fee, for
Microsoft to check them and place their "stamp of approval" upon them. Many
companies do not do so, yet their drivers work just fine. The lack of signed
drivers, by itself, is NOT going to cause your computer to crash. Just get
the "proper" drivers for your particular sound card.
