How do I get an answer from Microsoft? All I can find is about WINDOWS, I
willget back to that - you guys have made your web site impossible to
navaigate. I INSTALLED THE SP2 FOR MY WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL, BUT WHEN I
BOOT IT NO LONGER "SHOWS" PROFESSIONAL - JUST XP. WHAT OR MAYBE WHY DID I PAY
FOR PROFESSIONAL WHEN IT OBVIOUSLY (in MS minds) IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY
DIFFERENCE WHAT VERSION i PURCHASED?

I WANT AN ANSWER?

You're kidding, right?

That is normal.
Microsoft made that cosmetic change to that page to simplify toe
coding on the four versions of Windows XP.
If you started with Pro, you still have Pro which your System
Properties will verify.
Also Microsoft may have assumed users already know what they paid for
and have, do you?

Lastly, it is inconsiderate of you to come shouting on these peer to
peer volunteer newsgroups as you have.
No one here is paid to answer your question and perhaps you are best
ignored with your attitude.

Perhaps you would be better served by Microsoft directly:

You will probably have to pay!

Loud, ignorant, impolite and stupid people are generally a nuisance.

So nuisance, get on to a good search engine and discover the answer....it's
waiting for you on the internet.

Have you the skill or intelligence to find it?

When you do let everyone here have the benefit of your apology and new found
knowledge.

Reminds my of Ralph in "The Honeymooners"
If it REALLY concerns you that you've been ripped off by MS, rt-clk on My
Computer & check Properties (or haven't you graduated past reading what the
boot-up screen says as yet?)
Oh, I also hope you're not married, otherwise you probably keep your wife
awake half the night with your irrational ideas & shouting.
There, saved you a phonecall, although you don't deserve it. OTOH, you may
as well ring MS anyway just to make sure! Better check with them at the same
time where the 'any key' is.

You're going into hysterics over a minor cosmetic change to the boot-up
screen? One that has absolutely *no* affect upon the version of WinXP
you have installed? Have you nothing else going on in your life? How
very sad.

No, actually I was not kidding. I apologize for my perceived attidue, but
the first time I loaded SP2, my computer seemed to slow down and I assumed it
was SP2. Then I noticed the missing XP Pro "logo", I certainly did not mean
to "SHOUT" at anyone! Perhaps there are more fustrated users with
"certifications" that are not that familiar with what actually happens. My
original comments were directed at MS, not at anyone who is willing to answer
questions and improve performance of any product.
Sorry for the confusion

I am so sorry you feel that way, but that is your problem not mine.

Thank you! It would have been "nice" to prepare someone (me) for the change.
I guess the other respondents did not think it was worth their trouble to
explain.

Thanks for the reply. I am including my apology. My intention was not to
provoke the considerable "negativity" in the responses that I received. No,

If you have comments you want Microsoft to see, this is the wrong
place.
Microsoft does not officially monitor these newsgroups.
But Microsoft personnel occasionally monitor these newsgroups on their
own time.

If you want Microsoft to get your information, contact them at the
link in my last post or possibly one of these:

This thread has been a strange read. Few of the responders addressed the
posted problem; instead they took the personal attack responce as a way to
manifest their own personal attitude retardation.

It is obvious that too many of the MVP's have forgotten that they can "help"
or just "push buttons". It may seem momentarialy funnie or it may make you
feel better about yourself, but it may push someone over the edge. That may
manifest with a local 10:ooPM news story about some loon who kill themselves
and others. Far fetched? Talk to your local police dispacher.

Part of being a MVP is the understanding that your efforts will not be
recognized, remembered, nor appreciated by the faceless masses who plead for
instant gradification. As you know far too many have problems just
coherently stating their currently preceived computer problems.

What the unwashed masses assume is that the MVP means professional, and
professional means a clearly stated and applicable answer to their stated
problem. In reality, the answers usely address not only the stated problem,
but the real problem too.

I would recommend that maybe everyone should think of diversifing their
stock market portfolil. 100% in MS makes Billie a bit testie in bear
markets. A week vacation to St. Thomas VI will go a long way toward
returning one's testie factor back into "normal" range. No traffic jams, no
one screeming, "produce or else!", no wife, or girl friend complaining, "only
three times tonight?", no screeming, mindless children, no poopie smelling
dipers. Just tranquil, warm, crystle blue, water and beautiful blue sky with
a little puff of a cloud rapidly drifting by. No watches, no phones, no TV,
no radio, no cooking, no mowing lawns, no computers, no potiental free trips
to Iraq, just tranquil warm blue water lapping endless sandy beach.

Well, at least in a tourist day dreams.
