Probably because the computers are running XP Home. Home does not allow
the sharing of users' home directories - My Documents. However, you can
share individual folders in the My Documents directory.

A Windows XP computer can have multiple users, and each one has its
own "My Documents" folder. They can't all be called "My Documents" on
the network.

You can right-click and change the share name of a folder to be "My
Documents" or whatever you want it to be, as long as no other shared
folder already has the same share name.
