I have heard that about.blank is some type of hijacker... every time my
pages load.. I get about.blank..then my normal page overwrites it.. I have
not been hijacked.. but why is it there? thanks Rainy

What do you have set as a home page?
If you have "no home" selected (in Internet Options or in browser settings
controlled by one of your anti-spyware programs), you might catch a peek of
that page before the link you've clicked has had a chance to load.

"about:blank" is the page used for the "no home" setting. That particular
hijacker that you're talking about had a mistake in its code. Due to that
error, the blank home page was opened instead of whatever the malware
writers originally intended for it to open. In other words, seeing that
page, doesn't necessarily mean that you have been hijacked.

Hi sharon.. I have google set to my home page.. guess it would be ok.. to
have the no home selected.. then go to google.. but I always liked have it
there..but it has always bugged me to find that page lurking there.. lol
