ability to view options on far left inbox' sent, deleted,etc.

windows mail vista: not able to view options at left of screen. I don't know
how I made this go away but I cannnot view the options
 
You mean, you can't see the mail folders list?
Go to View, Layout, enable "Folder list".

Oh I see. That's not options, that's the list if the *folders*.

To switch it on again:

- Menu bar | View | Layout
- activate the checkbox "folder list" (my translation, my system speaks
only German).
