Hi;
I just created a dual boot system (Me/XP) and a very strange problem is
occuring in XP only. On 1 side of my monitor is my pc and on the other side
is a powerstrip with a Saitek joystick's wallwart plugged in. When I turn
on the power strip to power my joystick, the corner of my monitor closest to
the wallwart begins to "wrinkle" just as it would if a very strong magnet
were held close to the monitor, and if I lift the wallwart, the effect moves
up the screen. The obvious answer to the problem is to simply move the
powerstrip away from the monitor.
What I can't understand is why this absolutely does NOT occur when I'm
running WinMe. The refresh rate is set to "optimum" in both Me and XP so I
don't see how the WinMe software can have any affect on a magnetic field's
interaction with hardware. This has got me really scratching my head. I'd
really appreciate it if anyone could offer an explanation. TIA.
