I have an HP Pavilion 552W.... the system recovery and system
application recovery program/drivers/start.exe are/is missing. On my
other HP.. I have hp tools and in windows/SMINST are the
drivers/start.exe to run them... How can I recover the same for the
552w...... I need to reformat that pc.. but no disks as it has the
recovery partition, but no way to get to it.

Not a toughie at all:
Contact HP Technical Support and order a replacement set of Recovery CDs.
(Critical to have if your Hard Drive fails, as you can use this set to
recreate the hidden partition.)
Two years ago, the cost of a replacement set was under $20 U.S.

there is nothing on the pc to get TO.. F10 leads nowhere at this
point. its like the pc came with no partition of recovery.
