Okay I need to set up a peer-to-peer network between three PCs, all running
a fresh installation of Windows XP.

One machine is to hold to folders 'SALE' & 'ADMIN' while the other two
machines are to hold 4 user accounts each;
Admin Supervisor & User Ax (were x is the user number 1 - 3 )
Sale Supervisor & User Sx (were x is the user number 1 - 3 )

So thats a 'SALE' machine (with four accounts.)
A 'ADMIN' machine (with four accounts.)
And a 'SERVER' which holds the two files.

The user accounts are only to have access to their respective folders, while
the supervisors have access to both folders.

The machines are currently connected via a hub as workgoup 'PROJECT' with
the system using NTFS file system allowing for share permission & security.

Okay I've got everything connected the folders setup. Place the four
accounts on each 'workstation' machine. Ensured that each machine can
see/talk across the network. Problem is thats as far as I've got, my mind
seems to have gone blank and now I'm stuck.

Please help me complete this setup, help is most appreciated.

With workgroup authentication, you have to put identical accounts on both all
the client ('workstation'?) machines, PLUS the server. With identical
passwords.

On each machine (workstation and server), disable Simple File Sharing. Then
check the Local Security Policy on each machine (Control Panel - Administrative
Tools). Under Local Policies - Security Options, look at "Network access:
Sharing and security model", and ensure it's set to "Classic - local users
authenticate as themselves". NOT "Guest only".

Once you setup the accounts on the server, you setup Permissions from the
Sharing and Security wizard for each folder. Not the Security tab (which is for
local access) but the Permissions button.

Within the Permissions wizard, you set the permissions for each folder to each
account, as appropriate.

Cheers,
Chuck
