i'm with George on this. whether you're building the database from hell, or
a quick do-it-in-an-evening db, you have to start with the same basic skill
set. acquiring those skills takes considerable investment of time and
effort - and there are no shortcuts, if you want the database to be
dependably accurate. and since i imagine that one of your goals is to get
the "numbers" you need at tax time, accuracy is a must! get a dependable
off-the-shelf program, really.
