That's not a dumb question: We wish more people would take the time to
understand how newsgroups work.

The easiest way to find the answer(s) to a question you posted is to watch
for your original question to appear in the newsgroup. Once you see your
question, you immediately flag it. For example, in Outlook Express you
highlight your question and go to Message > Watch Conversation. Other
stand-alone newsreaders have similar features. In Outlook Express, a
'watched' conversation appears in a different color. Now, every time someone
responds to your question, their response will be in the same color, so you
can easily see it.

The responses to your original question should start with the word 'Re:'
followed by your original Subject line. People who don't know how to use
their newsreaders won't respond to questions properly and won't follow this
method, so you'll have a tough time finding their answers.

You can find additional information in Outlook Express' help file; just
search for 'watching conversations'.

If you didn't flag your original question, you'll have search for it, using
your newsreader's search function. In Outlook Express, go to Edit > Find.

BTW, you should never post a valid e-mail address in a news post - it's an
invitation for spam.

Rocky...a very good reply and most necessary for the majority of users.

I'm sure that Frank is not alone in his knowledge.

I trust that inexperience never prevents a novice from asking a question
to which a veteran can provide such an informative response such as yours.
