I take picture with HP digital camera and it does not support printing
exposure date/time on the picture like many film cameras Is there a
freeware program to do that? Is it possible with Irfanview and Exif
information?

From the IrfanView HELP file:

##### BEGIN QUOTE #####
Use the left mouse button to outline the area (selection) on the image
where you want text to appear. Click the EDIT menu, then ADD TEXT. A
dialog box will open.

How to make a selection? Just press the left mouse button and move
the mouse. You will see the selection rectangle. If you click on the
image again, the selection rectangle will be deleted and the selection
is not more active.

In the TEXT box on the left, type in the text you want to put on the
image.

Use the CHOOSE FONT button to change the size, style, color, etc., of
the text. The name of the selected font is shown under the TEXT box.

Uncheck the TEXT IS TRANSPARENT box to choose a background color. The
highlighted area will change to that color, with the text inside. The
small box above the button shows the selected background color.

Click the OK button to add the text to your image. To close the
dialog without adding any text, click the CANCEL button.

Add text may be reversed with the EDIT menu's UNDO command.

Thanks for the answer but I search a program that batch-writes the
date on multiple photos automatically (like Iviews batch operations
where there seems not to be an option to write just exposure
date/time)

Hi Jari,

I don't know of a program that does that (which doesn't mean none exists). I *prefer* to name the
images files with the camera date - that can be done as a batch operation (using the EXIF data). I
just switched to using Stamp to rename my photos:

Program: Stamp
Author: Tempest Solutions
Ware: (Freeware)

Just suggesting a possibility I thought *might* fit your needs. There are other programs that can do
this - if you're interested I'll post more of them.

Photo Dater v 1.2 is a freeware program that will batch write dates to
pics. It allows you to choose font, font color and location of date
imprint.
Can't supply a link but a Google search will turn up multiple sites.
