I have recently installed Outlook 2003. In setting it up, I checked the box
in the Tools, Options, General tab for send and receive at start up, but I
am still having to click the send/receive button to get my mail at start up.
Is there another setting I need to attend to? Thanks in advance--skip

Tools->Options->Mail Setup tab->Send/Receive Settings - set an automatic
polling interval to cause a send/receive on startup.

Thank you Milly, I appreciate your response. I went through the process you
described below, but am not sure I have done what you recommended. I
checked the box in the mail set up, send/receive setting (not sure if I
should have checked it), but am not sure what you mean about setting "an
automatic polling interval". Is this done by clicking the Send/receive
button? If so, I am not sure what to do on the next screen. If not, is
checking the send/receive box sufficient?

Thanks again for you kind help. You and the rest of the people who are
helping here are most appreciated!! skip

On your Send/Receive settings box, just check the box in front of "Schedule
an automatic Send/Receive every ___ minutes". Make the default at least
every 10 minutes and Outlook will collect your mail when you start it up and
then every 10 minutes (or whatever interval you choose) thereafter.
