Has anyone have any experience of a rogue dial up connection labled "New Dial Up Connection" that reinstates itself approx. one minute after its been deleted. In addition, if you just leave it alone it continually tries to dial out to an anonymous number every minute of so. Does anyone know how to delete it permanantly

I had thought this may be a forced download dialer but cant find any evidence of this.

That sounds like a dangerous spyware program to me, and the way to
eliminate it is with spyware removal tools. Download and run all of
these:

CoolWebShredder

Spybot Search and Destroy
www.safer-networking.org

Lavasoft Ad-aware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com

If possible, have someone who has a fast Internet connection download
them and write them to a CD for you. Then, disconnect the phone line
from your computer, start your computer in Safe mode, and run the
removal tools.

Thanks for that Steve, as at this moment the coolwebshredder download is unavailable, but I have obtained the Ad-Aware program. I've also downloaded Spybot. I'll run all three on the affected machine and let you know how it turns out.
