I have been reading about networking issue. I tried to connect 2 PC with
Windows XP using an UTP cable. I put both PC's in the same workgroup. I
checked to copy files beetwen them. It worked OK. However, when I try to
"ping" beetwen them the message "Request timed out" appear. (The command net
view worked OK).

Could sameone explain to me what is hapenning? Please.

(Sorry about my English)

It's possible that a firewall program on each computer is blocking the
ping requests but allowing file sharing.
