I had tried to uninstall the office 2000 and re-install the program again
and again.
All programs including Excell and Power Point are OK, except Word.

After completed installation of Office 2000, I tried to open Word. Then a
message appeared to request me to input CD for installation again. If I
don't put the CD, an error code 1706 will be appeared. No matter I put the
CD for intallation or not, the Word can still be opened. However, whenever I
open the Word, a message always appears to request me to input the CD for
installation.

Please help me to slove it.

Best Regards,
Peter

This message does not come up when I run Windows Mail but it does for some of
my programs, especially when opening Microsoft Works Task Launcher or trying
to scan a document. I also have Microsoft Office 2000. I could not find the
tool you are talking about in looking at the link. Maybe it is buried down
in their somewhere. Just for heck of it I looked at my registry entry to
see it the step 2 process in the document you pointed to was right and it
was. Can you offer any further help. Thanks

Tried repairing Microsoft Office 2000? Also, checking the Event logs would give an idea why the installer is being triggered.

I have tried to run "Regedit" to look the required files. All required file
exist. I aslo tried to rename the Userdata file and ran again some programe
of Office 2000, such as Excel and Power Point. All of them is OK, except
Word in which, a request of installation message still appear. But, if I
ignore such message, I could still open Word.

Peter
