A little help please.

I keep getting a pop up message that tells me I need to connect to the
internet whether I'm online or not and I have to click on "Work Offline"
numerous times to get it to go away. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may have set up some applications to check for updates, Check the Task scheduler, Firewalls,
Windows, Anti-Virus programs, WMP, etc.

Do you have Outlook Express Minimized?
If you have it set to check for Email at regular intervals and you're not on line, it will bring
up the DUN.
Tools > Options; and either uncheck the option to "Check for new messages every xx minutes" or
change the option under "if my computer is not connected at the time..."

If none of the above applies, check for spyware...

try broadband medic if that doesnt work,go to tools on yer tool bar click
options and you can reset settings

IE -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> delete any dialup
connections listed, and/or select option Never dial a connection

Try to establish what program is trying to connect to the internet - a
virus upadte perhaps. Check the settings to tell whatever program it
is to conform to your Windows settings (i.e. those in IE)
