Hi
I am using Word 97. I am trying to find out if there is any way to make a
font display when viewing a document, but not when printing it.

Any help you can give would be great.

Jaime

I don't see where this is possible, but it could be that I have
missunderstood the question. Not even sure why one might view it one way,
and then want to print it out another way. What you might consider is
creating a copy of the file; of coarse renaming the file, not to
inadvertantly cancel out the other. In the copy, change the font to the one
you want printed out. You might even add "printversion" to the title of the
copy for future reference.

Hi Jaime,

If this is just for use on your own computer, you can do this:

1. Format the nonprinting text with the Hidden attribute (in Format > Font).
2. In the Tools > Options dialog, on the View tab, check "Hidden text".
3. In the Tools > Options dialog, on the Print tab, uncheck "Hidden text".

The hidden text will be visible on the editing screen but not in Print
Preview or on the printed page.

Be aware that the space occupied by the hidden text will collapse in the
printed version, so the paging may be different.

If you need something that other users of your document can use without
manually selecting options, you'll need macros. That's a much more complex
situation because of the security problems that macros bring.
