My pc don't see my A:\ drive anywhere. The drive says that it is working and
the light comes on like it is working when I boot up, but when I put a floppy
disk in it does not see it. Any suggestions? Thanks

Considering that diskette drives go for less than 10 bucks, replace it.

you can check a few things...
1. Go in to the BIOS and see if the Floppy drive is enabled
2. With the power plug out of your PC, check and see if you floppy drive
cable have good connection to the floppy drive and to the motherboard. Also
make sure the power has good connection to the floppy drive...
3. If these don't work you can try clicking on START / RUN type in sfc
/scannow and click OK. You will need your windows xp cd in the cdrom drive.
This will check all system files. Reboot. see what happens...

Good luck

What happens when you try to boot with a floppy in the drive? If the system
gives you the usual message and computer will not boot then look elsewhere.
Check cables and try other disks. Most likely it is not your drive and to
replace it with no testing would be a waste of time and fruitless. Look in
BIOS as a last resort but it sounds like your hardware is fine.

Double click on my computer.. do you see the A drive icon?.. if yes, have
you tried more than one diskette in the drive?.. if yes, replace the drive..

If you do not see the A drive icon, go to Control Panel - Device manager..
is there a problem with floppy disk controller.. if there is a warning by
the side of it, you may have a motherboard issue, but more likely, you will
have to replace the drive..

With a floppy in the drive and I type A: in Run it tells me to insert a
floppy into the drive. No tweak installed. Yes the value is 145 Thanks
