Hey guys, I have a windows XP Home edition computer that will read a floppy disk just fine when you first turn it on. After you take the floppy disk out, and put in another one, when you open the explorer it only shows what was on the last floppy disk. I tried refresh, and everything I could think of and it just keeps showing the same contents that were on the first floppy disk you put in. The only thing I can do is restart the computer and then it will accept the first floppy I put in, but after that it only shows the contents from that first floppy. Can anyone help me?

New floppy drives are approx $10. Maybe try that. How old or possibly dirty
is your current drive?

Refresh should definitely show new contents. Have you tried going to C-Drive after changing the floppy before going back to A-drive and refresh? Also, have you tried closing the windows explorer and re-opeing [again] to see if this helps?

Hi Willie

I believe you will need to put back the original disk in the driv
CLOSE the drive while that disk is in and then take out the flopp
before inserting another one

Hi GPerson

I believe you might have failed to close the driv
before taking out the first floppy

I think you need to close the drive before insertin
a second disk

Try putting back the first floppy and then see if i
will open. If it does, then you need to CLOSE tha
particular floppy and your drive should be ok afte
that
