A 2nd copy of Outlook Express on an external drive doesn't work?

My notebook powersource died and I popped out the harddrive and have it
connected to a desktop via a USB storage box. I want to pull up my Outlook
Express, but when I do, it seems to load the Outlook Express on the desktop
instead. How can I get at the one on the external drive (until my new
notebook arrives and I can just copy it over)? Thank you.

1) This isn't an Outlook newsgroup.
2) You can't do what you want. Many programs require Registry entries for
their correct operation. OE is one such. You can't just run the OE program
residing on the external drive and expect it to work as it did in the
laptop.
