I'm posting again because I really need an answer. My
son is frustrated and so am I.
Will recovery disk restore pc to it's original settings
complete witht he proper drives and bios, etc?
should I just uninstall XP and put in recovery Disks
for son's pc?
He upgraded his pc from 98 to xp home edition.
I believe he probably removed some items when they found
uncompatable items and removed all files not in use.
Anyway, I tried to find a bios update and can't. And it
doesn't seem to be running properly.
Will the recovery disks restore it to it's original
complete with proper drivers and bios, etc.? And then
can we try to upgrade again?

Help?
Thanks so much
..

I do not think he did a full back up. He thought xp
backed up necessary ones. And when you say factory
settings, does that include bios and drives, etc. Sorry
this sounds so dumb, but I am not sure what to do. Do I
uninstall from add remove programs, restore 98 with
recovery disks, then try reinstalling XP?
Thank you

Thank you.
I am not sure how to do the bios.
I do know that when it was upgrading it did ask for old
cd but then it moved on.
All hardware is the same. Nothing added. So maybe I
should just uninstall xp, do a recovery, then try
installing xp again. Does that sound feasable or
doable? Will that work?
