I take back 87.32% of all the bad things I've said about Vista.
Even though Scandisk showed no problems, I was getting regular file
corruptions, seek retries and general malaise of my system. I then ran
SpinRite 6 and it showed me that my hard drive, a brand-new
Samsung HD510LJ 500 GB SATA, had intermittent failures and
was becoming more and more unreliable. I got it replaced and now
my system is purring like a kitten again.

What about the other 12.68% ?

Good to hear Tom.

Over the years I have found the same to be true many times. But you can't
tell that to people in answering a post, because they just don't want to
hear it.

The top three reasons for unexplained, multiple and un-connected system
errors I have found over the years are (in order of frequency):

1. Operator/user error

2. Defective - deficient - marginal RAM

3. Hard drive errors

12.5% = operator error or operator induced system modifications (we all know
that the changes an operator makes to the system are "always" desirable -
right?)

Are you sure your kitten didn't get trapped inside the case? :)

No, Fluffy's right here right Fluffy?....Fluffy??....Oh my God! Fluffy!!!!

RIP Fluffy 2000 - 2007

BTW, what's a good cleaner to use on the INSIDE of a computer case?

Tom Lake

P.S. Anyone want to buy a 50 lb bag of Meow Mix, a food bowl and
a small bag of catnip?

Of course, Fluffy might still be alive and kicking. Check out the
