Intel 815 Chipset from win 98 se to xp full or upgrade,
Apparently theres a Disc controller issue W 815 and Xp on
install?? TomD

Hello,

To upgrade your Windows 98 computer you should follow the steps detailed in
316639 "HOW TO: Prepare to Upgrade Windows 98 or Windows Millennium Edition
to" http://support.microsoft.com/?id=316639.

The big this is to pay close attention to the Upgrade Compatibility Report.
If you hard disk controller appears on this list it should show this as a
blocking error. This would explain why you are getting a STOP 0x000007b
during reboot.

Sincerely,
Jeff Wade [MS]
