75%-100% cpu usage

My computer is slow, the speaker sound is not
good, my screen saver aquarium is not working
correctly and my cpu usage is too high. I
installed spysubtract and cleaned the computer
and at first thought it fixed the usage but
when I turned on the computer the next day,
the cpu usuage was again high. I ran the spy
software again and nothing was detected. What
should I do? I only want to do the Restore as
a last resort to fix this problem. Sometimes
I cannot access the internet which I wondered
if it was because of the high cpu usage going on.
Appreciate your input.
 
I'm having similar issues.

Running XP...and we're trying to find out what is causing
the usage. Adaware runs every night, but cpu is slow even
after a cleaning.

Right-click the task bar, select Task Manager. Look in Processes and
report which processes are using the CPU.

G'Day mjminer, Asmith and Quaoar,

Please run Task Manager
Switch to the 'Processes' Tab
Click once on the 'CPU' Heading to sort by CPU
Then Click 'CPU' once again to reverse sort.

Please tell us the name(s) of the Process(es) that use(s) the
most CPU - they/it will be at the top of the list.

Task Manager is useful but you could look at another freeware utility
Process Explorer, which provides similar information but adds that little
bit extra towards seeing what the running processes represent. For further
information about Process Explorer see here:
