I am considering ehancing the antenna's on my current Linksys WRT54G router.

The gain is 7 dbi. I've been searching the web for the answer, but can
anyone let me know what that 7 dbi gain would translate?

How many more feet in range?

Thanks

Without doing a site survey to determine sources of interference and
obstructions, it is almost impossible to predict what a change of
antenna efficiency will mean in terms of increased range for a
particular installation. For a general discussion, see
http://www.ezlan.net/antennae.html

Note that if you have an older (pre-version 5) WRT54G, you can install
3rd-party firmware that will allow you to turn up the transmitter power.
See www.linksysinfo.org.
