I have a product that could greatly benefit from 64 bit XPe.
AMD, HP and Gateway are talking. Is MS in the loop?
Just wondering if and when this may be reality?

Arn't the concepts of XPe and 64bit computing at different ends of the
spectrum???

XPe is for small lightweight devices, and 64bit computing is for massive
addressable memory space. If you have a small lightweight device that
needs to access more that 4Gb or memory, I would be intrigued to hear
what it is....

Who said.

One of our usages is for massive video (multi-camera) input compression, storage, playback and distribution of video information. So
we are always hungry for more power (there is no machine for which can be said that it is enough).
And 64 bit OS is not just use to address more than 4 GB of memory. It should be optimized to use 64 bit processors (more speed), and
also you have virtual address space that is 64 bit more or less instead of 2/3 GB limit for applications.

No way!

Many high end video and audio products could greatly benefit.

Embedded doesn't mean cheep!

I guess you have misunderstood the fact that Xpe can be meant for
High End Video processing. If you believe XP can do it then why not
Xpe.We had used Xpe for a complete integration of High end
transmission of Video coversage at various intervals with N number of
processes accessing the memory space and efficient leverage of Video
and Audio output. It could have been for sure enhanced with a 64bit Xpe
for sure....

There are no plans to componentize the 64bit version of XP Pro. We are
looking at this for LHe, though. Thanks for the feedback.

What is LHe?
