If you are using XP Professional it is probably 64bit, If
you are using Home edition it is probably 32bit.

Don't believe Nar the Goon! See my answer above to another person
thoroughly out of his territory. Have you ever seen a 64 bit machine?
Do you have any idea what they cost? If so you would have never asked
this question. :-(

Hi Mike

The Itanium CPUs are not available 'over the counter' in the UK - and from my research they have to ordered to specification. One of the local Business Companies very near to me has invested in a 64-bit Workstation - even though I advised them against it - price wise.

It really was a waste of money - a 32-bit CPU would have seen them through for the next 3 years.

Jack,
How HP make their products available to you the general public is not to an
issue.
The fact that you local CompUSA does not carry them does necessarily mean
that some other store will not be carrying high end product.
This, we have no control over.
My understanding of the market place extends to that you can buy an Itanium
II PC for approx $3200 dollars from various sources.
64-bit systems are available to anyone that wants one for a computing tasks
that requires a 64-bit platform to yield business benefit.
