503 Error message in Outlook

In MS Outlook, how do I correct error message "503 valid RCPT to <recipient>
must precede DATA". I can get e-mail, but whenever I try to send, it comes
back with this error message
 
I solved it (was googling about it when I came across this suggestion) Try
turning on authentication. Tools >> Email Accounts >> (Go into your account
and choose) More Settings >> Outgoing Server and turn on outgoing
authentication set to your normal details. It worked for me so I help it
works for you. :-)
