Hi all and happy Purim

i have Xp pro & Gigabyte 81915P board

and new 5.1 sound system

http://www.sollan.co.il/Product_page.asp?PID=373&cat=4

this board has an integrated 5.1 Cmedia sound card ,

the problem is that I hear only from the front speakers

the sub-woofer , center , surround speakers don't work

Windows itself is set to 5.1 system (control panel - sound -> advanced ->
speakers type -> 5.1)

But only when I mess around with the driver I'm able to hear all the
speakers working .

In a normal windows operation & games I'm unable to hear all of the 6
speakers working .

Thank you

If the sound system is an integral part of the motherboard then you better
ask the tech support people at the motherboard web site for help.

HI Sharon,

I am not familiar with that particular sound card.
I have an Auidgy2 ZS with a 5.1 speaker system, and I know sometimes my
stereo or speaker focus can default to 100% to the front, and I won't get
sound out of the rear. When this happens, I go into my soundcard's speaker
settings ( not windows speaker settings), and can adjust via a slider the
focus of the sound.
You might also check to see if there is an option in your soundcard's
speaker settings to synchronize with your windows control panel or something
like that.

Using System Restore will cause that.
