45sec pause on startup

Just got my MCE 2005 machine about a month ago, and fresh it would start from
power off to ready in probably a min, never timed it but it was fast! Now I
know the more crap you load into windows it takes longet to start, but
something changed over the last week or so, hard to pinpoint as I only reboot
every few days, or as needed with MS updates, etc. Now after the black
windows screen with the 3 moving blue squares the screen goes black and the
machine sits for about 45seconds, then a mouse cursor appears for about
another 8, then I get the blue background Windows is starting, and a few
seconds later the desktop is loaded and it's ready. I've gone back to my
furthest restore point, but that was just 4 days ago, and the same thing is
happening. I assume at the point it's happening it's probably a driver or
maybe a service. How can I narrow my search to figure what's causing the new
pause?

How much longer are you talking about? If it's on the order of 1-2
minutes is it worth it to check out? Turn it on, get your coffee and
come back.
