426 error

i tried writing in dos catlog problem no help
also pulled memory according toi article 307153 no help
is there a way to dowload info and sending it to
hardrive i dont want to lose info on drive for a full
install thanks

Since the original problem isn't quoted here, we have no way to help out
with that. However, there are several ways to rescue data:

1. If your computer has two cd drives, one of which is a cd-rw, you can
boot with Knoppix. Knoppix is a Linux distro that runs from cd and will
be able to see your Windows files. Boot with Knoppix and burn the data
with the k3b burning program. You can get Knoppix at www.knoppix.net.

2. Remove the hard drive and slave it in a working XP box and copy the
data to the working installation's hard drive. Burn to cd-r.
