1) My computer came packaged w/ XP OS and w/ restore
(ghost) discs. Does the full OEM disc,(retail), have the
ability to restore individual missing or corrupt files w/o
a reformat? (ie have the ability to pull out files
individually from CD and then transfer onto C:\?
2) Do Windows updates recognize and correct
corrupt/missing OS files?
3) Are Windows XP sys files case sensitive? (Getting a
hal.dll corrupt message at boot-up. The .dll file shows up
in Windows file in caps, ie HAL.DLL.) If case sensitive,
will changing the case possibly correct prob?
4)Is there a command line entry that will activate the
internal System Restore and find the last restore point?
TXIA.

if the restore image actually uses Norton Ghost...
you can restore individual files...
you can also do so with an OEM cd...

however...if you've replaced the original files with updated files...
that would not be a good idea

windows updates to not recognize and replace missing files ...
but if one of the files that's missing would be one normally replaced
by the update...you should be ok

and no...windows is not case sensitive
