Hey. I just formatted my computer and i've got XP back up
and running. The only problem is that things like games
aren't running as fast as they used to. The frame rate
tends to drop quite a bit. For example: on 3D Mark 2001
before the formatt I got a score of around 8500 but now
that ive got a nice clean hard drive with all the updates
and applicable drivers i only get a score of about 4500!
Now thats gotta suck! When i started up Windows again for
the first time there was a few things that it couldn't
find the drivers for. I got the sound sorted out but
there was two remaining things(contained within the "Add
New Hardware" section). They were Ethernet Controller and
SM Bus Controller. Im not sure if the absence of the
drivers for these things has anything to do with it and
I'm not even sure what on earth these things are. Or
could there be some sort of conflict in my system?

So im hoping if anyone can help me out here please.
Much appreciated

Tim

Did you load mobo drivers?? That SMBus Controller suggests in that
direction....
Mobo/chipset drivers affects system perfomance a lot, like the AGP driver in
them...
