Hello:

I have recentlypurchased a new PC running XP, and have transferred all
my old stuff to it.

I now have, apparently 3 versiuons of Word on it.

An old vers from 1997 that works just perfectly.
A new 2002 version, which is driving me crazy.
and another version that came with MS WORKS.

Is there any way I can designate my old 1997 version as a sort of
Default Word, and have it open up All the Word documents on my PC,
automatically,
irrespective of which Word they might have been initially created with ?

Thanks,
Bob

Unfortunately not. The last version active will take precedence. The best
solution would be to install Virtual PC 2004 which will allow you to have
Office 97 installed as your main application with the other versions running
in virtual windows.

Multiple versions of same software = recipe for disaster!

Not that I know of, but if you like Word 97 so much why don't you just
uninstall the other vcrsions? Is there a reason for retaining them?

You don't say what the problem is with the 2002 version - can anybody
help with that, as it would be better to keep te later version?
