Hi

1. Does Outlook 97 allow you to view newsgroups like Outlook Express 6.0?
2. Does Outlook Express have a calendar function like Outlook 97, so it
reminds you of meetings etc..?
3. What should I use over the other: Outlook 97 vs Outlook Express 6.0?

Cheers

1. No. No version of Outlook reads news
2. No.
3. Recall that Outlook 97 is the most outdated and least functional of any
version of Outlook. It is no longer even supported. It is the least facile
at handling Internet Mail protocols. So it's your choice. There is ample
material online to let you compare the 2 products.

That is what Microsoft Outlook does.
Do you mean you are looking for a free product?

Apparently, since MS has no product that does them all.

everything else.

And I would (and do) use Outlook Express for news and Outlook 97 SR-2b for
everything else.

Yep, I do the same. By the way, Outlook 98 was free in those days. I
remember that I downloaded it some 5 or 6 (you are getting old!) ago. Check
the internet I would say. 97 is terrible compared to 98.

The free version of Outlook 98 is no longer available, not very safe to use,
no longer supported, and surpassed by much better versions.

If you just need the calendar function, use the one from Works or look for a
3rd party app on the net. It's silly to load a slug like OL97 just for
calendar.
