3 icons/out of 80; do not retain their dsktop postn ?

Don't know why you're having the problem but a workaround is to run an
edit from Kelly's site that creates two right click context menu entries
that show up when you right click a blank area of the desktop: Save
Desktop Icon Layout, and Restore Desktop Icon Layout.
