These questions will probably be a breeze(for anyone but yours truly). I "inherited" the computer that my late uncle received just this past Christmas. He passed in Feb. My previous PC had ME in it and I had a set of 3 recovery discs that walked you through reformatting and reloading with a couple of yes and no questions. All I have with this one is one Windows XP Home Edition CD. The reason I wanted to reformat was because of the tons of "everything" he saved on here in a very short time. Being unfamiliar with XP i don't know what is XP and what is my uncles half the time. He is still the name that i have to log into when signing onto windows also. Anyone know how I can get this back to its original state before he registered it or how to do it so i don't lock the whole thing up before i even get to the disc

Thanks for any advice

Lisa

Greetings --

Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the
installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot
devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
