Socket 478 - do NOT touch LAG775 at the moment - it needs DDR2 memory which can only run at CAS4 at this point in time and LGA775 systems generally tend to run slower because of this.

My advice is stick with Socket 478 Prescott or go AMD
 
if you can find it, get an Asus P4P800-E Deluxe

its a springdale but it's faster than most canterwoods!
 
Well, that's typical of PC World, really typical :mad:

I was going to buy 2 x 512Mb of Corsair Value PC3200 anyway, so thought I'd get 25% off.

Guess what? They're out of stock of all flavours of that particular RAM.

Bah, humbug, plus some other choice expressions that I best not vent....

I cant afford, or really justify a nice 6800Ultra or the hottest Athlon 64. :( ah well, will just have to wait till the prices drop by 25%.... and the the last person in the country to get one :(
 
i ordered my P 3.2 and think i'll stick with my asus mobo

cheapest place i've seen it is from ebuyer at £76 (P4P800-E Deluxe)
but out of stock and takes 7 day to order - any1 know another site at same or cheaper price?

some produces will be out of stock for around 15 days on pc components, then disappear. my first custom build PC was from components all brought from there site, so right now its the only one i trust buying from. mirco-direct have so much more on offer though.

im trying too justify a 6800GT. its my birthday today ( 18th! ) and was thinking about a new PSU, memory and graphics card. anyone have a site which reviews the 6800 series?

I didn't see that, it only says "25th" it does not say the date until you look at the date it was posted!
